An elegant seven-string

Harley Benton BZ-7000 II NT 7-string electric bass

Harley Benton's Deluxe Series has earned a strong reputation for delivering impressive instruments, and the BZ 7000 II clearly reflects that same level of refinement and attention to detail. Its seven strings, tuned to B, E, A, D, G, C, and F, already open up extended tonal possibilities, further enhanced by a proprietary design paired with carefully selected tonewoods. A standout feature is the elaborate seven-piece through-neck with a 35" scale length, both of which contribute to a powerful, well-defined low end. High-quality components that include a graphite nut, die-cast machine heads, and a monorail bridge underline the instrument's solid build, while the combination of two humbuckers and active Tesla electronics with a three-band EQ provides a versatile and responsive sonic palette, resulting in a remarkably complete package that will comfortably rival instruments in much higher price ranges.

Exquisite components

Mahogany and ash provide the solid foundation of the Harley Benton BZ 7000 II, enhanced by a striking AAA-grade flamed maple top that adds a refined visual touch. The transparent natural high-gloss finish allows the wood grain to stand out beautifully, while the through-neck, crafted from seven strips of maple and nyatoh, provides strength and a clear, direct tonal response. A 24-fret ebony fingerboard completes the design, and with its extended 35" scale length, slightly longer than standard basses, the instrument delivers added definition, especially on the low B-string. The combination of two Tesla humbuckers and active electronics with a three-band EQ offers a wide tonal range, while a push/pull pot allows a seamless switch to passive mode for a more traditional sound.

A premium bass for everyone

The classy-looking Harley Benton BZ 7000 II seven-string is particularly well suited to budget-conscious individualists seeking something distinctive and outside the mainstream, offering a clear alternative to more conventional, vintage-inspired instruments, and it will appeal to players who are not bound to traditional concepts and who prefer not to settle for yet another reinterpretation of a classic design. With its extended tonal range, achieved through the low B-string as well as the high C and F-strings, it also lends itself naturally to creative musicians and skilled players who enjoy exploring solo arrangements or more complex chordal work. For those looking to broaden their musical perspective with an unconventional and expressive instrument, the BZ 7000 II certainly presents a compelling and inspiring option.

About Harley Benton

Since 1998, the Harley Benton brand has been catering for the needs of numerous guitarists and bassists. In addition to an extensive range of stringed instruments, Thomann's house brand also offers a wide choice of amplifiers, speakers, effect pedals, and other accessories. In total, the range includes over 1,500 products. Built by established names in the industry, all Harley Benton products combine quality and reliability at attractive and affordable prices. The continuous expansion of the range ensures that Harley Benton always provides new, exciting, and innovative products that keep players perfectly in tune with the musical world, day after day.

The next step

Instruments like the Harley Benton BZ 7000 II can, of course, handle standard "bread and butter" roles - such as providing a solid and reliable groove within a band context - with ease. Beyond that basic function, however, its design clearly points towards a much broader musical purpose, including solos, solo arrangements, and more complex chord work. These expressive applications can be further enhanced with Harley Benton's extensive range of effects, such as the Classic Chorus for atmospheric, floating textures (particularly good for harmonics), or the Classic Flanger for a more intense, almost psychedelic feel, while reverb effects like the Harley Benton Quality add spatial depth to solo passages. At the same time, the wide dynamic range of a seven-string instrument can be effectively controlled and balanced using a compressor such as the Custom Line, helping to maintain clarity and consistency across different playing styles.

Wow

I picked this up as my first venture into the world of extended-range basses and it's been a wonderful experience so far. The bass is very large, solid and well put together and my unit has no imperfections at all. The neck is practically flat on the back which gives quite a natural playing position with the thumb resting in the middle of the neck. Navigating the fretboard is a familiar, yet somehow slightly alien endeavour, but I'm able to play the normal 5 strings I'm accustomed to with ease. I've had no issues with keeping it in tune, in fact it was almost perfectly in tune when it arrived all wrapped up in the box! If you're considering picking one up, go for it, you won't be disappointed.

Unparallel playability

I took some time to get courage to buy this bass. I'm not a bass player, so it is a bit challenging for me. However I've got a lot of fun. Unexpected high quality for such low price. Excellent wood work, high quality hardwear. Amazing playability. Superior sound quality. It is more than just a play guitar. It is completely different world. Limitless opportunities. I recommend to try.

S
Suona moooolto bene ma....
Skyd 14.01.2026
