When things need to go really low!
Baritone guitars are becoming increasingly popular among players looking to explore lower tunings without sacrificing the playability of a standard electric guitar. With its extended scale length of 762mm, the Harley Benton GuitarBass VS gives these players an affordable way to start experimenting with an extended low end. The six strings are tuned an octave below standard guitar tuning but still retain optimum tension, which ensures excellent playability while also delivering greater tonal clarity and separation between notes. In a band context, baritone guitars can also fill the sonic space between the bass guitar and standard guitars, which in turn makes for a fuller overall sound.
Solid features throughout
Only solid woods have been used for the Harley Benton GuitarBass VS, since this is the only way to ensure a full-bodied tone that is sure to cut through the mix. The body is made of nyatoh, while the bolt-on neck is made of Canadian maple, and the amaranth fingerboard features 21 jumbo frets that ensure clean intonation at all times. The GuitarBass VS features a trio of AlNiCo 5 single coil pickups that are punchy without being too aggressive, so the guitar's amplified sound will also remain perfectly manageable. The chrome-plated hardware comprises a Tune-o-Matic bridge and stop-bar tailpiece combination, together with a set of Kluson-style machine heads on the headstock, thus ensuring precise control over string tension and tuning stability.
A deep dive into the low end
The Harley Benton GuitarBass VS is an attractively priced baritone instrument that gives guitarists an ideal way to enter the world of bass without having to learn a new instrument from scratch. Beginners will find they can't go wrong with its unbeatable price-performance ratio, while advanced players too will appreciate the GuitarBass VS's versatility, courtesy of the combination of three single coils with AlNiCo 5 magnets that offer everything from crystal-clean to richly distorted tones. The slim C neck profile offers optimum playability even for players with slightly smaller fretting hands, and the wide cutaway in the body also means that the upper positions on the neck are always easy to reach.

Fat bass and baritone sound for every occasion
The Harley Benton GuitarBass VS is extremely versatile and well-suited to a wide range of applications – after all, there's hardly a style of music out there that can't be enriched by the distinctive, striking sound of a baritone guitar. The strings, tuned down an octave, create a unique and unmistakable sound that is almost impossible to achieve with a conventional electric guitar and its shorter scale length. The Harley Benton GuitarBass VS thus excels at filling out the sonic spectrum between the guitar and the bass, while also serving as a creative alternative to a bass guitar – particularly when it is run through a bass amp. With the flexibility to be paired with a normal guitar amp as well, the GuitarBass VS can offer the best of both worlds depending on the musical context.
