A string has a rattle that comes from inside the string

They sound great, but the A string has a constant rattle/buzz that seems to come from inside the string itself. It is not the bass, and it's only the A string.
The other 3 strings sound good. A bit of a bummer, but it makes me want to try better quality flatwounds.
