Great product, but be careful
These little round files are fantastic for smoothing and shaping slots, but they are easy to bend if you are too forceful, but they can also cut into the nut surprisingly fast as well so it's easy to go too far if you aren't careful.
They are great if you work gently and take time to stop and check your progress.
I don't think I'd try to cut a new nut with these as they are too flimsy, but for smoothing and shaping existing slots and sharp edges they are excellent.
For the price this is a no-brainer addition to your workshop.

Great learning tool, suitable for personal use
I have learned to do a quite good setup thanks to these. I had my guitars setup by a "professional" luthier, and he missed the crucial point - the nut. I have set up my two Yamaha acoustics with these, and they feel so much better, and the intonation at the first fret is finally good.
Oh and a tip for you: be VERY careful when filing the nut, especially on high gloss polyurethane stuff, such as USA Fender. Protect the headstock by all means and protect it well, or you might easily stick the file into it. Learned it the hard way.
All in all, a great little investment that will save you time and money, teach you an important new skill which you could actually charge to other players.

Blind date
I got these blindly to work on a new baritone setup... At first sight I was sceptical to say the least. But actually it works perfectly, and it's all you can wish for to setup a nut.
Keep a written copy at hand of the article description because the gauges are not written on the files.

Inexpensive, but does its job
Not the best quality in the world, but these are perfectly usable for home use.

For nut slot cleanup
I use these files to clean up nut slots, and it does a good job. Once I'm done with the proper nut files, I run these through to slightly widen and shape the back of the nut. For cutting a nut, use proper nut files; for very minor work these do the trick.

super cheap and very useful
I am a pro guitarist. I needed to file the low E slot a bit on my killer Harley Benton SC 550 , and this worked perfectly. For the price of a couple of cheeseburgers. Brill.

At first they felt very malleable and will not file the nut slots properly, but when I started using them on a bone nut, I found out that malleability is a great quality to fine tune the slots depth without going too far.
Thumbs up!

Good tool for what it does
This is a good tool for what it does. When in a quick need to file your nut grooves, for better string placement and intonation, this will do the job.
Its a very useful tool, which I recommend and should be part of every guitar players Tool-Kit !
