Outstanding sound for modern styles

I’ve been playing the Ibanez BTB605-TGF for a few months now, and honestly, it’s exceeded every expectation I had when I bought it.

The first thing that stands out is the build quality — this bass feels incredibly solid and premium. The neck is super comfortable, especially for a 5-string, and the neck-through construction gives it amazing sustain and stability. Even during long sessions, it stays smooth and easy to play, which is a huge plus.

Sound-wise, this thing is an absolute beast. The tonal range is massive — from deep, punchy lows to clear, articulate highs. Whether I’m playing tight metal lines, groovy fingerstyle, or even slap, it handles everything effortlessly. The pickups and EQ give you so much control that you can really dial in your own signature sound.

Another thing I love is how well it sits in a mix. It cuts through when needed but never sounds harsh or muddy. It’s equally great for studio work and live performance.

Visually, it’s also a stunner. The finish looks even better in person, and it definitely turns heads.

Overall, this bass feels like a professional-level instrument at a very reasonable price. Reliable, versatile, and inspiring to play — I genuinely look forward to picking it up every time.

Not my first five-string, but it looks and feels much better than my other one, I'm looking forward to the years of playing it I will have. MY only issue is the sharp edge where my right forearm rests while playing.

Ich wollte mir einen neuen Bass mit Doppel-Humbucker Konfiguration holen. Da bin ich auf die BTB-Serie von Ibanez gestoßen, da sie einen schönen Premiumbass bieten, der aber auch als Arbeitstier für viele Gigs genutzt werden kann. Nach ausführlichen Testen vor Ort hat mich der Bass mit seiner Vielseitigkeit überzeugt. Man kann beide Humbucker einzeln, als auch in Kombination, einwandfrei nutzen und sie klingen hervorragend. Mit dem aktiven Preamp kann der Sound auch gut angepasst werden, vor allem durch den Mittenfrequenzschalter, denn ich habe gerne für bessere Präsenz im Mix mehr Höhenmitten.
Der Hals ist sehr angenehm zum spielen, es gibt keine scharfen Bünde und auch die Intonation war super. Durch das Neckthrough-Feature kann man alle hohen Bünde, auch auf der H-Seite super erreichen und diese klingt dank der 35er Mensur sehr gut. Nur die Saitenlage musste ich runterstellen, aber das ist Präferenz. Der Bass hat leider bei der Verarbeitung einen kleinen Lackrest am Holz vom zweiten Bund der A-Seite, welcher leicht stört, aber die Bespielbarkeit nicht wirklich einschränkt.

Fazit: Ich spiele in einer Coverband und auch in einer Metalbesetzung und wollte einen Bass, der überall reinpasst. Diesen Job erfüllt er ohne Probleme und ich habe mich schon in das coole Design verliebt, also werd ich ihn nicht mehr zurückgeben!

Det eneste at udsætte på den var et ALKALINE batteri i stedet for et almindeligt brunstens batteri.
