Great Jody Jazz mouthpiece.

After reading reviews and listening to examples, I bought the Jody Jazz HR* mouthpiece as an upgrade from the plastic mouthpiece on my Trevor James “The Horn” Revolution iI alto sax. I originally bought the 6M but found it to give too much buzzing when I played it. I returned it and purchased the 5M and got a much more pleasant result. I use a standard B&G ligature and also it plays best with a Select Jazz reed.

Tolles Mundstück, auch für konsequente Wenigüber!

Habe bisher Jazz auf leichtgängige Klassikmundstücke geblasen und als Wenigüber einen großen Bogen um anstrengendere Jazzmundstücke gemacht. Meine Wahl fiel deshalb auf das HR* mit kleiner Bahnöffnung.
Wird man mit der kleinen Bahnöffnung überhaupt genügend Power hinbekommen? Ja, absolut! Gepaart mit Legere American Cut 1,75/2,00 kann ich ordentlich Dampf machen, aber auch sehr leise blasen.
Die Ansprache ist in allen Lagen sehr schnell, leicht und angenehm.
Alles in allem ein sehr vielseitiges Mundstück, das weich bis aggressiv kann. Von Klassik, Smooth Jazz bis Funk kann man eine große Bandbreite abdecken. Ein tolles Allroundmundstück auf hohem Niveau und zu einem fairen Preis!
Ein paar Tage später habe ich mir dazu den Powerring angeschaftt, der noch ein wenig mehr Mumms in Ansprache und Sound gebracht hat.

Ich hatte dieses Mundstück mit einem Otto Link und USA Meyer G zum Vergleich bestellt. Letztendlich fiel meine Wahl auf das Jody Jazz-Mundstück. Mir haben besonders die tiefen Töne gut vom Klang her gefallen. Warmer Sound, gut für Jazz oder Blues geeignet. Die Ansprache könnte noch besser sein. Auf jeden Fall ein Mundstück das man ausprobieren sollte.
