Sounds & looks great!

I'm using the Fiberskyn 3 on a Surdo drum with a Remo control ring and it sounds
fantastic! I use the Surdo as part of a set and with this head I can play more articulated patterns without loosing the rich bass tone.

Bought for my Tama Club Jam. Love it. Great warm tone. Perfect for jazzy lounge type settings with a solid (non-porthole reso). Playing more rocky / reggae material it is still punchy but needs to be use with a reso head that has a port hole.
A great middle-ground solution between Ambassador and Emperor

I am currently using this Fiberskyn 3 as a resonant head with no dampening and it sounds great. Brilliant quality as always for Remo. Easy to tune and aesthetically very pleasing.

Ein gutes Schlagfell für meine 18er Gretsch Catalina Jazz Bass Drum war längst überfällig. Der Sound der Original Felle - Remo China - war sehr dumpf und muffig. Warum Gretsch für einen Bop Kesselsatz beiderseits gedämpfte Bass Drum Felle einsetzt, ist mir schleierhaft. Da ich auf allen Snares und Toms Skyntone Häute spiele, war die Wahl des Fiberskyn 3 Med. (FA) Bass Drum Felles vom Remo quasi vorbestimmt. Die Optik ist purer Genuss und ebenso der Sound. Ziemlich tief gestimmt und bar jeglicher Dämpfung ergibt sich ein wunderbar warmer, offener Vintage Sound mit ordentlich Sustain. Ich steh total drauf!
Zur Qualität kann ich noch nichts sagen, ich hoffe jedoch sehr, dass sich die Beschichtung nicht löst, wie es wohl bei Fiberskyn Snare Fellen häufig vorkommen soll.
Kurz und knapp:
Der Sound des Remo 18" Fiberskyn 3 Med. (FA) Bass Drum Felles ist gewiss nicht jedermanns Sache und nicht mit jedem Stil kompatibel. Wer kein Jazzer ist, aber gerne was neues ausporbiert und an Sounds tüftelt, sollte dieses ungedämpfte Fell ruhig mal antesten. Meinen Geschmack trifft dieses sexy Fell zu 100%.
