Great for Further Study

I wouldn't recommend this to absolute beginners or those who just want to learn playing their favourite songs, but for those who have already understood the basics such as holding your guitar, picking, chords and notes, and decide you want to delve further understanding in how music is created, especially if you want to improvise or make your own compositions, this book is for you!

I appreciate the teaching without the history lesson. It just gets right to the nitty-gritty, makes you listen, tests on what you've retained, and practice some more. It touches on very important subjects such as intervals, which I think a lot of books never explained well.

Legible print is always a plus. Accompanied examples in an audio access online.

A
Best value book for guitarists
Anonymous 10.02.2017
A great introduction into music theory for guitarists. The explanations are easy to follow, you can practice what you learn right away, the CD that the book comes with has high quality examples to play along to or listen to. If you are looking for your first music theory/guitar book to learn by - this is the way to go.

Really worth considering.

This is a very technical book, so it pays to set aside time to play through and repeat the exercises. There is a marked difference in my playing after using this book regularly, but it can get a little heavy going.

A brilliant book written by a brilliant guitarist. It's a good approach to learn the fretboard inside out. I wish I had more spare time.
