not as flexible core sound as i would wish for, but...

the mouthpiece responds well and the intonation is very easy throughout (a very welcomed quality on a soprano (curved)). altíssimo seems harder than with a piece with a baffle and the core tone is very stable, but also difficult to vary in color (maybe due to the lack of baffle). it is a great piece for stability but I wish it had more color and that it could go a bit brighter when pushed - maybe a different ligature could do the trick - i use the Versa X and tried a BG Duo Silver but found the sound with the BG Duo Silver even more spread so back to the Versa (returned the BG Duo). all in all, this remains my main piece for now. I think I will eventually find something a little bit more middle of the road that can go brighter when pushed (or maybe I need more time to learn how to work this piece - have been playing it for 3-4 Months). for ensemble with an edge this is quire the number.
