Thomann Ukulele Lute Tenor

it is beautiful instrument, that is slightly marred by it lack of resonance. It is *very* quiet when played with fingers.
Paired with low-G Aquila Reds and a soft pick really makes it glow up though. As I often carry it on medieval fair, I found that using feather as pick not only looks awesome, but also brings the ukulele-lute to life. Played that way it also becomes a LOT louder and even better sounding.

Another minor gripe another reviewer already mentioned is that the tuners have trouble holding the tension. You can even see them turning back of their own.

Still ... I'd really recommend it if a real lute is too expensive and/or you just love special types of ukulele.

The uke-lute is nice for its price, with metal strings. It plays rather quietly. Not a very loud instrument, rather gentle. Sadly, the cheap tuners slip back and can’t hold the tension, especially on the first and fourth strings. Somebody here mentioned that the tuners turn back while you’re watching them, and that’s no joke, they really do! I’ve now ordered new tuners (Gotoh UPTL planetary tuners), which will definitely upgrade the lute, but also add another €70. Maybe that’s why they ship it with such crappy tuners, good ones would push the price of the lute up to around €280.

L’ensemble est correct à mon goût: les cordes d’origine font vraiment jouet et on pourrait s’attendre pour cette gamme de prix à un montage d’origine en Aquila ou autres... Les mécaniques sont aussi assez décevantes et j’ai commandé des mécaniques Gotoh UKA pour les changer car celles d’origine ne serrent rien ou alors il faut vraiment les resserrer excessivement. Quitte à changer les cordes, autant en profiter pour améliorer leur tenue... On craque pour ce uku pour son look qui est par contre impeccable. Belle finition, léger ponçage de frettes à la rigueur sur les bords mais rien de méchant. Le son est brillant, très proche d’un ukulele concert mais avec une sonorité assez typé et plutôt agréable. Le reste est digne de Thomann, livraison rapide et emballage sécurisé. Bravo.3 étoiles seulement pour les cordes et les mécaniques pour un ukulele sur une gamme de prix équivalente à un Kala.
