A real Streamer at a fair price

Warwick RockBass Streamer 4 Ocean Blue Transparent

The Warwick RockBass Streamer 4, shown here in its Ocean Blue Transparent Satin finish, brings the classic Streamer body to a price range that's just as attractive – it's aimed at bassists who want a reliable instrument for everyday use. With its contoured Carolina body and eyecatching finish, it seems both modern and subtle at the same time. The neck offers both stability and an inviting playing feel, while the 24 jumbo frets offer plenty of room for groovy bass lines and complex solos. Sound-wise, the passive MEC humbuckers deliver that traditional bass punch, but thanks to the active RockBass two-band electronics, the Streamer 4 will adapt effortlessly to different styles and playing techniques. All in all, it's a solid RockBass – perfect for ambitious beginners or as a trusty backup for the pros.

Solidly built and sonically flexible

The RockBass Streamer 4 combines a carved Carolina body with a bolt-on laminate maple neck featuring ekanga veneer stripes and a wenge fingerboard, a construction that gives bassists a super direct response. The 24 jumbo titanium-brass frets – together with the Just-a-Nut III nut, made from Tedur – ensure that the instrument's intonation is spot-on all the way up the neck. In terms of sound, the foundation laid by the duo of passive MEC Vintage humbuckers can be shaped and refined using the active RockBass two-band electronics with volume, balance, bass, and treble controls, so musicians can dial in everything from warm, rounded lows to crisp, punchy highs – plus the active electronics allow bass and treble not just to be cut, as is standard, but also boosted. The combination of a Warwick bridge and tailpiece is perfect for fine-tuning the string action, while Warwick machine heads and security locks keep the tuning stable and the strap secure.

A bass upgrade

The Warwick RockBass Streamer 4 is a great pick for bassists looking for a reliable instrument at an affordable price – but who don't want to miss out on those classic Warwick features. It should appeal especially to players moving up from a beginner bass to something higher quality that's ready for (home) studio and stage use: Bassists with a little more experience will appreciate the ergonomic design, the easy-to-play neck and fingerboard, and the electronics that make shaping the instrument's sound a breeze. It's also ideal as a second bass for more advanced players or as a trusty backup on stage, thanks to its moderate weight, flexible tone options, and sturdy hardware. Anyone after more specialised features will soon find that prices really soar from here on out – but for a solid foundation for band practice, studio recordings, or live gigs, the Streamer 4 remains a dependable choice, with the top build quality bassists have come to expect from Warwick.

Streamer mit Warwick-unwürdiger Verarbeitung
Michel B. 275 16.11.2024

- Der Deckel zum Elektronikfach ist magnetisch in Stellung gehalten. Das vereinfacht den schnellen Zugriff zur 9V Batterie. Letztere sitzt allerdings so fest in ihrer Halterung, dass ich sie mit bloßen Fingern nicht heraus bekam, sondern einen Schraubenzieher zur Hilfe nehmen musste. Der Deckel schließt auch nicht ganz bündig mit dem Korpus ab;

Soundcheck:
