LD Systems MS 828

I purchased one of these to go into an installation in a church hall. What attracted me to it was actually the lack of features, since it was going to be used by a range of volunteers - many with no audio background - it had to be simple to use, and with only a volume and pan control on each channel, it really doesn't get much simpler than that!

Being able to use the 6 channels and then use the two Main In channels as well is a big help. Volunteers are able to plug in a microphone and go or plug in their phone for background music. When there's a band in, I'm able to plug into the main ins and go directly into the system without having to work around to get to the processor which is handy.

All in all, a very simple product that does it's job well!

Wir setzen den MS828 live als Pre-Mixer für mehrere Keyboards ein, sodass zum eigentlichen Mischpult nur noch eine Stereosumme übergeben wird. Hierfür ist des MS828 wunderbar geeignet, ganz besonders auch, da hier auch eine Pan-Regelung mit an Bord ist. Ich kann also das Keyboard, welches primär einfach Klaviersounds liefert auf eine minimale breite stellen, da hier ja tatsächlich die Seiten des Klaviers dargestellt werden - links tiefe, rechts hohe Töne. Für ein anderes Preset kann aber ein bisschen Breite auch nett sein, daher nicht ganz mono.
Die anderen Decks liefern Flächen und Effekte, proftieren also von Stereo-Breite - perfekt zu machen damit. Dann nur noch Pegel untereinander angleichen und schon spielt das Ganze, wunderbar regelbar. Die Bedienung ist zwar im Grunde einfach, jedoch nicht sehr gut erkennbar, welche Schalterstellung bei den Kanälen grade vorliegt. Wurde beim Aufbau oder so mal ausversehen einer der Taster gedrückt, muss man erstmal suchen, warum da grade was seltsam ist. Ist aber nicht wirklich ein Problem, so viele sind es nicht und man kann ja die Finger von den Tastern lassen ;)

Wir haben das Ganze in einem Case mit einer 19" Palmer Gruppen-DI, vorher wurde ein Keyboardverstärker benutzt, als Alternative im Test war auch noch ein kleines Behringer Mischpult.
Das Mischpult konnte in den Optionen zwar mithalten, der Klang der Kombi aus Palmer DI und LD MS828 ist aber um Welten besser. Der Keyboardverstärker klang besser als das Behringer Mischpult, aber nicht ansatzweise so gut wie diese Kombi und er hat eben nicht die Möglichkeit der o.g. Regelung - hat allgemein alles in Mono gewandelt.
Der neue Klang der sich aus dieser Anschaffung ergeben hat, ist tatsächlich sehr beeindruckend und kann ich nur empfehlen.

Kein Rauschen oder sonstige Störgeräusche bisher, auch keine Ausfälle bis heute - Stand 12/2021, gekauft 12/2019.

I bought this product for home use, needed a single unit and basic mixer for connecting various audio devices (mediaplayer, turntable, etc..) to an amplifier. This MS828 works just great, really basic on its features but that's what i was looking for. I tested it as a splitter (and also in a mixed application, as the manual suggests, using some channels for mixing and some for splitting the output signal) and had no problem at all. Indeed a very useful device for managing your audio signals, if you don't need EQ knobs and faders.
