not for larger djembes
a Tamás 29.03.2026
Bought it for a 12" Toca Synergy djembe (59cm tall) but it is apparently meant for smaller drums. I expected it to go as low as snare height, just to lift the djembe 7-10cm off the floor but its minimum height is 26cm above the floor with the drum head being level. With a 30-degree tilt the minimum height is around 31cm.
The 2 hooks that hold the bottom of the drum are not spaced well for a thick djembe and are not long enough to hold it securely. The feet of this particular djembe are 3.5cm thick, so I was only able to rest the djembe on one of the hooks. After some time the rubber started to break off the hooks leaving the metal in contact with the djembe foot. The velcro strap has worked ok-ish, the djembe has not fallen off but it does wobble. You could use an extra rope for safety though.
The lock connecting the legged part and the top is strange to handle and loosens up. I've had the lower part disconnect and fall down when carrying the stand by the upper part.
Adjusting to the height of the drum is also strange and quite limited. It's done by screwing 1 or 2 winged bolts (depending on desired height) through 2-2 holes on 2 metal plates. The bolts poke out on the djembe side when tightened.
Also, when on the stand, the ropes of a roped djembe will push against the holding bar which may create uneven tension and potentially even crack a thin goatskin. It can be circumvented by setting the stand higher, so the bar holds the part below the ropes around minimum 39cm above the floor.
Also tried the stand with a smaller darbuka/doumbek and it worked well playing seated. With larger djembes it may only work mounted higher, e.g. if you play standing and not so well if the djembe has thick feet.

Bought this stand to use with a didgeridoo. It does the job perfectly. Been performing live with this for 4 years now. Still looks great and works perfectly. Highly recommended.

This is very good jambe stand but I am recommending this for using Darbuka ( doumbek ) . Iam using Meinl aluminium 8.5 inch size Darbuka . So better option don't buy Darbuka stand instead buy djembe stand for darbuka
