Custom design for the best sound

Unlike most closed-back headphones, the Sennheiser HD 620S features 42mm angled transducers that create a wide, panoramic soundstage, all housed in a sleek black design that blends high-end acoustics with modern aesthetics. Equipped with 33mm diaphragms, the headphones delivers a reference-grade listening experience, reproducing frequencies from 6Hz to 30kHz with exceptionally low distortion – and boasting a THD value of less than 0.25% at 1kHz/90dB SPL. Despite its powerful bass, the sound remains perfectly balanced, ensuring clear, uncoloured vocal reproduction. With a maximum sound pressure level of 105dB at 1kHz/1Vrms, the HD 620S offers a detailed and dynamic sound signature, ideal for immersive listening.

Weighing just 326g, the lightweight yet durable design ensures long-lasting comfort. The supple artificial leather ear pads provide internal ventilation, while the spacious ear cups offer excellent acoustic isolation and a comfortable fit for extended wear. The HD 620S is built to last, with steel-reinforced ear cup covers and robust headband sliders that provide enhanced durability and dependable performance.

About Sennheiser

In June 1945, Prof. Fritz Sennheiser founded the Wennebostel Laboratory, which initially produced measuring equipment. Commissioned by Siemens in 1945, the young company developed the MD-1 microphone, which was launched in 1946. After the development of further microphones, the company was renamed Sennheiser Electronic in 1958. Two years later, Sennheiser introduced the MD 421 dynamic microphone, which is still in production today and still held in high esteem by many sound engineers. Further groundbreaking developments, such as the HD 414 headphones and the classic MD 441 microphone, hugely enhanced the company's international reputation, eventually making Sennheiser one of the leading manufacturers of microphone and headphone systems in the world.

The right accessories for every occasion

The Sennheiser HD 620S includes a versatile cable and adapter, offering flexibility for a wide range of audio setups. The 3.5mm to 6.3mm jack adapter ensures that the headphones are not just compatible with portable audio devices but also record players, amplifiers, and mixing consoles. The 1.8m cable with a 3.5mm connector provides ample freedom of movement, making it ideal for comfortable listening sessions, whether enjoying a vinyl collection or streaming high-quality audio. Additionally, when paired with an audio interface using the included adapter, the HD 620S is also capable of detailed monitoring – ideal for content creators who require accurate playback of their streams or podcasts, helping to identify errors during the editing process.

Perfect for my need
Tim1959 02.01.2025
I've been searching for a reasonably priced set of closed back headphones to be used in the bedroom and not disturb my partner late at night. I had hoped my HD 820s would be fine - perfect sound and no annoyance for her. Turned out this isn't the case - the HD 820s leak too much! I like Sennheiser's sound profile so decided to purchase the HD 620s - the mixed reviews are enough to put you off, yet they only go to show that headphones are very particular things. For me, I could not be happier! Absolutely no sound leakage and a VERY acceptable tonal profile: great across lows, mids and highs. Very comfortable with zero problems regarding clamping pressure and earpad seal - they are a perfect fit. Perhaps I'm just lucky - my head shape somehow just right - but I don't care: these are some of the best headphones I've used and I've used many over the years. Using them with ARIES II ladder dac and a Topping A90 - nothing special but good enough. Roon Labs recent headphone profiles are interesting but, to be honest, I'm happy with the sound out of the box - I find the profiles can kill speech tonality and I'm never sure the whole Harman Kardon profile is a useful thing anyway.
Sure, being closed, my ears get a little warm but not a real issue - I like the 5 series design and they feel comfortable.
Finally, build quality: too early to say but my guess is that they'll last. Good use of different plastics, along with the metal backs of the phones, would seem to make them durable enough. Earpads are replaceable, so that shouldn't be an issue.
All told - an excellent set of phones at a VERY reasonable price. Highly recommended.

Very solid neutral sounding studio grade headphones
the audioartist 24.07.2024
My old DT770-250 was just about falling apart after years of faithful service, and didn't gave the details and translation I wished for; they didn't have added value compared to the main en near field studiomonitors (Neumann and Genelec). After some extensive listening and comparisons between the closed Beyer 1770, 700ProX and the Ollo s4r I bought these! The HD620 give a more neutral and relaxed sound and a slightly better soundstage experience compared to the rest (IMHO). Layers in music were more visible/defined. These Sennheisers don't have the WOW effect, they are flat and neutral sounding. They lack some punch in the presence and the boosted highs (mount Beyer) compared to het Beyers and some accuracy and speed in comparison to the Ollo, but for longer listening sessions the 620's are more preferred because they give less listening fatigue and due to the somewhat more laidback highs and presence they give some more insight and space in the mix. the mix translates beautiful to all sort of systems! These can easily be used for Hi-Fi listening to I guess, they sound a lot like the old HD650; the 620 does give some more low end. The headphones sit firmly over the ears (directly out of the box maybe somewhat to firm), within a couple of weeks they get more loose, then it's ok. The earpads close very well around the ears and the build quality is solid enough compared to the old Beyers. Highly recommended for professional studio/live use!
