Excellent headphones
Raygun76, 13.04.2020
Had been toying with buying these for a few months on the recommendation of an audio engineer... having never spent this much on a set of headphones, it was a difficult decision to make but absolutely the best one to make!! Also, not being a fan of mixing on headphones was really putting me off but these were a great investment... So comfortable, you'll forget you have them on; response is clear and flat, ensuring that you get nice reproduction of your mixes on different systems. On top of all this, the cables, earpads, etc are all replaceable so you don't have to fork out for new headphones just because of wear & tear on these parts and the headphones should last forever (as was the recommendation to me in the first place!).

Reference headphones for a good reason
Rboggyz, 13.05.2020
These have gone around as being reference headphones since the HD580 was launched. I have to say I cannot disagree with that at all. I am using them with a JDS Labs Element 2, and have compared them to the HD580s which I also own, as well as a couple of pairs of Beyerdynamic, the DT 770 Pro 250 Ohm and the DT 1770 Pro. The nature of those being closed back, a direct comparison is not exactly fair, however! The Sennheisers are more confortable, and sit very well in terms of sound quality. Bass is not as punchy, but it's still full of detail, they have excellent mids, I have noticed male voices sound beautiful on them. Highs are not fatiguing, nor faded, for my ears they are just right. One good comparison with the Beyers would be the soundstage. Although Sennheisers are open back, the soundstage is close and intimate. Overall I am very happy with the HD 650 and I can recommend them for everyone who wants a good pair of mid-range headphones.

didnt let me down
TonyBee, 26.03.2020
im using these in studio to mix on, using sonarworks ref 4 and Can opener to simulate speakers . i also use focal solo be 6 monitors with a sub - these sound similar enough that i can mix silently , they have a lot of detail , especially reverbs and back vocals , echos etc, you hear a lot of detail, they sound clean and true , low end is very good with sonarworks , these are like good in ears in level of detail , but are also flat. UPDATE - this method is working really well to mix silently , i do have to add a slight boost from 2k up to match my speakers , but the mixes sound very similar in either method.

Best headphones I've owned
Bedroom warrior, 26.05.2020
I was looking for headphones to play guitar silently, without oppressive pressure on my ears or nasty highs, flabby lows. I tried AKG 240IIs but they were too loose in the low end, I tried Beyerdynamic DT770s but they put too much airpressure on the ears. I kept trying to pop my ears with those.

Ultimately I decided to splurge and get these Sennheisers. Super comfortable, sounds fantastic, and no pressure thanks to the open back design. It is pricy, but the cheaper options weren't working for me so I am satisfied.
